    Crossroads Village Review

Pros – 2BR/2BA apartment was decently large for the price

    Cons -
    1. Security is lax – suffered break-in to carport storage locker, vandalism to my car two times; management was indifferent in all cases. Data from an independent website showing crime data in the area over the last 6 months seem to indicate there is a lot of crime in general in the area, which I did not know at the time I moved in.

The supposed onsite security is fairly non-existent, and there is a lot of foot traffic through the complex from people living in the adjacent neighborhood going to and from the shopping center.

    2. Noisy – apartments are poorly insulated. In my upstairs unit, I could hear lots of thumping from the neighbors DOWNSTAIRS when they would go up/down their stairs – that is highly counter-intuitive.

If you are on the aisle adjacent to the shopping center, beware! The delivery trucks come in and out all hours of the night, and they and the delivery people are VERY NOISY (windows are single pane, they do nothing to block the noise). Management actually lied about this aspect when questioned prior to moving in, having seen the shopping center out the window.

    3. Hot – again, the apartments are poorly insulated. In the summer, in an upstairs unit, be prepared for temperatures in the upper 80’s inside, which will not cool down until around 11pm or so.

    Indifferent –
    1. Maintenance work – the maintenance folks are nice enough. If you have a maintenance job, though, the job gets put into a queue which is done in a first come first served fashion, with no warning when they will come to do it. Which means, if you have concerns about wanting to be at your apartment when work is performed, you pretty much have to stay home from work, without a guarantee they will actually come on a given day. This seems like a lack of basic landlord-tenant courtesy.
